Iowa Economic Development Authority Grants

Applications Anticipated to Open in October 2026
This program helps towns fix up, redo, or tear down buildings that are holding back growth. It supports projects that bring new investment into the community.
Guarantees up to 50% on loans under $500,000, or up to $250,000 on loans over $500,000Rolling.
Applications accepted on an ongoing basis
This program was created to help downtown businesses recover after COVID. The state backs loan guarantees so banks feel safer lending money for downtown projects.

This is the main grant for building facelifts. It gives grants to cities to help pay for downtown facade improvements on commercial buildings.

A practical guide for farm employers covering hiring, worker classification, pay stub requirements, workers' compensation rules, and interview/background check guidance.
Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers Program
Connects agricultural employers with seasonal and migrant labor recruitment support. Agricultural employers, including crop and livestock farmers, co-ops, grain elevators, greenhouses, and nurseries, can work with outreach workers to recruit labor from Iowa and other states.
