Introducing Our New Economic Development Coordinator

Poweshiek Development is excited to welcome Jasmine McGregor as our new Economic Development Coordinator, supporting county‑wide efforts to strengthen collaboration, communication, and community engagement across Poweshiek County.

In this role, Jasmine will work closely with our Executive Director to help coordinate key projects, support local businesses and partners, and enhance the visibility of economic development initiatives throughout the county. The coordinator position plays an essential part in keeping our work organized, connected, and moving forward.

Jasmine brings experience in areas such as communications, administration, community engagement, or project coordination with previous work as the Jasper County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Coordinator. Her strengths in organization, writing, and relationship‑building will help support the many committees, workgroups, and partnerships that drive economic development in Poweshiek County.

As a public‑facing member of our team, Jasmine will:

• Coordinate meetings, agendas, and follow‑up for committees boards and workgroups

• Support social media, basic communications, and content creation

• Assist with reports, presentations, and data tracking

• Represent Poweshiek Development at community events

• Help strengthen connections between local governments, nonprofits, and businesses

Her role ensures that our partners stay informed, our projects stay on track, and our work remains accessible and transparent to the community.

Jasmine shared that she is excited to contribute to a mission‑driven organization focused on strengthening local economies, supporting small towns, and fostering collaboration across the county. Outside of work, Jasmine lives in Newton with her husband, Ben, and their two dogs, Atlas and Ember. She also enjoys crafting and participating in local community events, and she looks forward to becoming more connected with the Poweshiek County community.
