We are excited to announce a significant change that reflects our commitment to growth and collaboration within Poweshiek County. We understand that change can be challenging, and you may be wondering about the reasons behind our new name, logo, and timing. This moment calls for a fresh approach—one that fosters deeper connections and enhances collaboration across our communities. Our new brand embodies this vision, signaling our readiness to grow together as a county.
This transformation has been guided by our Strategic Plan and the dedicated efforts of the board’s Marketing Committee. We are proud to have collaborated with Katy Wells from Double You Marketing to bring this vision to life.
What you see is more than just a logo; it is a symbol of our commitment to progress. It conveys that Poweshiek County is poised for collective growth and development.
After exploring various directions with the marketing committee, we are thrilled to unveil the results of our team’s hard work. Rebranding is no small feat—often more complex than starting anew. Our goal was to refresh our identity while honoring the rich history and achievements that define us.
Our new name, the Poweshiek Economic Development Collaborative, clearly articulates our mission and operational approach. We are more than an office or a committee; we are a network of partners—a cohesive team working together across communities, sectors, and schools.
The logo and color scheme represent our three largest school districts—BGM, Grinnell, and Montezuma—reflecting our commitment to serving every corner of the county, rather than focusing on just one area.
Our modern interpretation of the previous logo emphasizes the county’s central location and interstate access, while highlighting collaboration as a key driver of success. The tagline reinforces this connection to the interstate and the idea of moving forward.
This versatile logo features accessible fonts and a variety of color schemes, ensuring that it stands out in today’s media landscape and remains relevant for years to come.
